Cerys is based in Melbourne, and is currently studying a Masters of International Relations. She holds a particular interest in exploring both intimate character studies and tackling humanitarian issues through documentary. Once graduated, she will blend her filmmaking and academic studies together.

 

In 2020, Cerys completed a Diploma of Screen and Media at MAPS Film School, where she undertook multiple crew roles on numerous short films, and wrote and directed her first short film, Moonriver. 

 

Cerys has worked for SLA Films as a Production Assistant at various points throughout 2019-22, including through the Adelaide Film Festival.  During this role she read through scripts, attended key creative meetings, collated data,  assisted with the organisation of premieres and so on.

 

She has also undertaken crew roles on the ABC’s documentary Getting Their Actors Together,  and has shadowed director Francis Annan on his feature, Escape From Pretoria. 

 

In 2021, Cerys wrote and directed her short film Instead of Love.
